This large, lakefront listing in Muskoka is about a two and a half-hour drive from Toronto.
Neighbourhood: Medora, Ont.
Price: $14,495,000
Size: 7,440 sq. ft.
With a front door to Lake Muskoka’s sandy shoreline, this cottage-country home, minutes away from Port Carling, Ont., offers luxury living.
The seven-bedroom, eight-bathroom lakefront property was built in 2019 and hit the market in May. The price tag was originally $15.4 million but was lowered to $14.5 million because of motivation to sell, said the home’s agent, Joe Quinn of Chestnut Park Real Estate.
The house at 1532 Mortimer Point Road features 487 sq. ft. of sandy beach with both shallow and deep waters, and a 650-square-foot, four-slip boathouse fully furnished with living accommodations.
The open-concept main floor has a modern Muskoka room with floor-to-ceiling windows, offering a panoramic view of the waterfront. The living room also features a tall granite fireplace. The home includes a wine cellar, a billiards room and a partially finished basement.
This one-of-a-kind cottage home is nestled in a quiet neighbourhood 10 minutes from Port Carling, a small resort town. “We don’t often get shallow sandy waters in Muskoka,” Quinn said, adding that you can watch the sunset over the lake every evening.
“It’s a good price,” said Quinn, adding: “The market is decent. It’s a little slower than it was a year ago. The last two years with COVID buyers, it’s been a pretty frantic market. So it’s levelled out.”
Quinn says the house offers privacy and prestige, and could appeal to an overseas buyer.
