A man is dead after he fell into Lake Ontario near Ontario Place and Lake Shore Boulevard and was pulled from the water by emergency responders.
According to tweets from Toronto police Sunday, officers responded to reports of a man who fell off a tour boat around 2:40 p.m.
The police marine unit and fire boats were dispatched to the lake, where a search was launched to locate the man.
Crews found the man more than two hours later and began life-saving efforts.
The man was then transported to hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.
Toronto police said Sunday evening that the death is “believed to be the result of an accident.”
“As there is no criminality linked we will not release any further details,” said police spokesperson Const. David Hopkinson.
