Six injured after Ajax drive-by shooting

Six people were injured during a drive-by shooting in Ajax early Monday morning, police said.

Durham police said they were called after gunshots were heard at a plaza outside 154 Harwood Ave. just after 1 a.m. At a press conference Monday morning, police told reporters three women and three men were shot during a party at a restaurant in the plaza.

A suspect drove away in a dark, four-doored vehicle, according to police.

Police said they found six people injured at the scene, one of whom has life-threatening injuries. First responders took the six people to different local hospitals.

Forensic officers are investigating the incident.

Police are asking anyone who may have witnessed the incident for information, and asking anyone with video of the event to come forward.
